Before an article is published, we check its factual claims against credible sources and link to them in a Sources section at the end of the article.

Our standard

• Specific numbers, statistics, and study findings must link to a real, checkable source.
• General guidance (for example, common early-pregnancy symptoms) is written in plain, non-specific terms when a citable source is not yet attached.
• We do not invent studies, statistics, or expert quotes.
